The disadvantage of these folding machines, especially on high-speed rotary printing machines, manifests itself in the second cross-folding device, where the folding speed is possible relative to the first cross-folding device and the double-fold folding across the printed products is possible only with a throttled printing speed. This depends on the sophisticated control of the grips located in the knife cylinder, which, when the cylinder rotates, capture the printed product, which alone must be received from the folding valve valves of the first cylinder that open at the same time. At the same time, the opening angle of the grips should be very large, and the steering angle, due to unfavorable geometric relationships, should be very small, so that already at low folding speeds very large accelerations and mass forces occur, with increasing rotation it is difficult to control.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the productivity of the folding machine while preserving its advantages in such a way that it is possible to fold on all the folding devices without reducing the possible printing speed of the rotary press.
The goal is achieved by placing the first and second devices for transverse folding of the belt conveyor.
